Search "yacht charter Tampa Bay" and you get a lot of photos and almost no prices. Most operators want you to call, email and negotiate before they tell you what a day on the water costs, which I have never understood. Here is what a private charter costs in Tampa Bay in 2026, the same numbers we publish on our pricing page.
The Short Answer
A private charter aboard our 52ft Marquis Flybridge costs $500 per hour Monday through Thursday and $600 per hour Friday through Sunday, with a 4-hour minimum. Both rates are all-inclusive: USCG-licensed captain, crew, fuel, coolers, ice and cleaning. Nothing gets added at checkout.
That puts the most common trips at:
4-hour weekday charter, $2,000. The best value on the calendar. Same yacht, same crew, same sandbars, and quieter water.
4-hour weekend charter, $2,400. The classic Saturday afternoon on Tampa Bay.
5-hour weekend sunset cruise, $3,000. Our most-booked trip. Leave mid-afternoon, swim at a sandbar, and watch the sun drop behind the Gulf on the ride home.

What "All-Inclusive" Actually Covers
This is where Tampa Bay charter pricing gets slippery. Plenty of operators advertise a low base rate, then add fuel surcharges, captain fees, per-person charges, docking and cleaning once you are ready to book. A cheap charter can grow 30 to 50 percent between the first quote and the final invoice.
Our rate covers the captain and crew, all fuel including sandbar runs and island stops, coolers and ice for your BYOB drinks, all three decks, the premium stereo, Starlink WiFi and the full galley kitchen. The number you see is the number you pay.
The Per-person Math That Surprises People
A yacht charter sounds like something you do once a decade. It is a luxury, but split across a group the per-person number lands closer to a night out than people expect. The Marquis takes up to 13 guests, so a $2,400 weekend charter is about $185 per person and a $2,000 weekday trip drops to roughly $154 per person. Set that against a group dinner on Beach Drive with drinks and the yacht stops looking extravagant.
Weekday or Weekend: When to Book
If your dates are flexible, book Monday through Thursday. You save $100 an hour, and the water around Shell Key and Egmont Key is much quieter. Pricing the Longer Days
The 4-hour minimum covers most trips, and the hourly structure makes extending easy. A 5-hour weekday charter is $2,500 and the weekend version is $3,000, which is the sweet spot for a sandbar swim plus a full sunset. A 6-hour day runs $3,000 weekday or $3,600 weekend, and that is the block I recommend for the two-island run to Egmont Key and Shell Key, covered stop by stop in our island day trip itinerary. Every hour is all-inclusive, so adding time never triggers a surcharge. The sixth hour costs what the first one did.
Per-Person Math at Every Group Size
The per-person number moves fast with headcount, so run it before you settle the guest list. On a 4-hour weekday charter at $2,000 total:
13 guests: about $154 each. The full-boat rate, and the best per-person value we have.
10 guests: $200 each. Still comfortably in group-dinner territory.
8 guests: $250 each. A typical birthday or bachelorette crew.
6 guests: about $334 each. Room to spare across all three decks.
On a $2,400 weekend charter the same splits land at roughly $185, $240, $300 and $400. Fill more seats and everybody pays less for an identical trip, so call the two friends you were not sure about inviting.
What About Gratuity?
Gratuity is the one thing we leave out of the rate, deliberately. It is at your discretion and never added automatically at checkout. If the crew earned it, 10 to 15 percent of the base charter price is customary, which is $200 to $300 on a $2,000 weekday trip. It goes to the captain and crew who ran your day.
How to Keep the Total Down
Four honest levers, from the person setting the prices. Book Monday through Thursday and you save $100 an hour before doing anything else. Fill the boat, because the rate is per hour rather than per person and an empty seat is the most expensive thing aboard. Use the BYOB policy, since there is no drink minimum and no marked-up bar, so your cooler costs whatever the store charged you (no glass bottles). And book weekend dates two to four weeks out. That one does not save money directly, it just stops you settling for a slot you did not want.

Booking and Deposits
A 50% deposit locks in your date, with the balance due seven days before departure. If I call off a charter for weather or unsafe conditions you reschedule at no extra cost, and the booking stays valid for twelve months. Weekend sunset slots go first.
