How Much Does a Yacht Charter Cost in Tampa Bay?
The complete, transparent pricing breakdown for chartering a luxury yacht in Tampa Bay, Florida — hourly rates, weekend packages, captain fees, and what's actually included. Updated for 2026.
Yacht charters in Tampa Bay start at $400/hour with a 4-hour minimum (plus $50/hr fuel and $100/hr captain). Weekend packages are $2,000 for 4 hours or $2,500 for 5 hours, all-inclusive. Multi-day Bahamas trips start at $5,000. Standard crew gratuity is 18–20%.
Hourly charter rates
Hourly rates are the most flexible way to charter a yacht in Tampa Bay — useful when your group needs less than a full day or wants a custom departure time on a weekday.
| Component | Rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Yacht base rate | $400/hr | 4-hour minimum applies |
| Fuel | $50/hr | Billed separately on hourly charters |
| USCG-licensed captain | $100/hr | Required on all charters |
| Total per hour | $550/hr all-in | Plus 18–20% crew gratuity |
That works out to $2,200 for a 4-hour weekday charter all-in (before gratuity). For most groups, the weekend package below is a better value.
Weekend package pricing
Weekend packages bundle the boat, fuel, and captain into a single flat rate. Two slots run every Saturday and Sunday on Tampa Bay.
| Package | Time | Duration | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weekend Day Charter | 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM | 4 hours | $2,000 |
| Weekend Sunset Charter | 2:30 PM – 7:30 PM | 5 hours | $2,500 |
Both packages include fuel, captain, and crew. The 5-hour sunset slot is the most popular — golden hour over the Sunshine Skyway is what most clients book us for.

Bahamas & multi-day pricing
The 52ft Marquis Flybridge has a 600-mile range, making it Bahamas-capable from Tampa Bay. Multi-day adventures start at $5,000 and are custom-quoted based on:
- Number of nights (typical trips run 3–7 days)
- Fuel for the route (Bahamas crossings typically burn $1,200–$2,000)
- Dockage and slip fees at destination ports
- Provisioning and customs fees
- Additional crew nights
Most multi-day trips land between $5,000 and $15,000 depending on duration and itinerary. Request a custom Bahamas quote →
Hidden costs to watch for
When comparing yacht charter prices in Tampa Bay, here are the line items operators sometimes leave out of the quote:
- Fuel surcharge — some operators advertise low base rates, then charge $80–$150/hr fuel
- Captain "service charge" separate from gratuity
- Cleaning fees ($150–$300) if not included
- Departure/docking fees for non-standard marinas
- Mandatory provisioning packages (food/drink minimums)
Yacht Away Now does not charge cleaning, departure, or service-charge fees. Our quotes are flat: boat + crew + fuel = total.
How to get the best price
- Book weekday slots when possible — hourly rates apply with no minimum surcharge
- Choose the 4-hour weekend package over the 5-hour if you don't need sunset
- Book 4–6 weeks ahead for weekends and holidays — last-minute rates rarely come down

How much is a 4-hour yacht charter in Tampa Bay?

Can I rent a yacht in Tampa Bay for under $1,000?
No — private yacht charters in Tampa Bay realistically start around $2,000 for a 4-hour booking. Smaller boat rentals (pontoons, deck boats) under 30 feet can be found for $400–$800, but those are not yachts and rarely include a captain.

Most Tampa Bay yacht charters do not include food in the base price — guests bring their own or arrange catering separately. We provide ice, water, and koozies; everything else is BYO.
Is the captain's gratuity required?
Gratuity is not legally required but is strongly customary. 18–20% of the charter base is standard for excellent service, and 100% goes directly to the captain and deckhand who earned it.
How much is a yacht wedding in Tampa Bay?
Yacht wedding packages in Tampa Bay typically run $2,500–$8,000+ depending on duration, guest count, and add-ons (officiant, photographer, catering, decor). Our base 5-hour weekend charter is $2,500; full ceremony and reception packages are quoted custom.
What's the price difference between Tampa Bay and Miami yacht charters?
Tampa Bay yacht charters are typically 30–50% less expensive than equivalent Miami charters. A comparable 52ft yacht with captain runs $4,000–$5,000/day in Miami versus $2,500/day in Tampa Bay, with similar amenities.
